New Patients Aloura Family Practice

We are delighted to welcome new patients to Aloura Family Practice. Our goal is to make your first visit as easy and comfortable as possible.

Whether you are booking for yourself or your family, we take the time to understand your health needs and ensure that your care is thorough, respectful and well coordinated.

Booking Your First Appointment

You can book your first doctor’s appointment online through HotDoc or by calling our friendly reception team.

If you are new to our clinic, please select “New Patient Appointment” when booking. This allows our team to allocate the appropriate time and ensure your first consultation runs smoothly.

For complex health concerns or longer discussions, we recommend booking a long consultation (30 minutes). This allows your GP to take a detailed medical history and address multiple issues if needed.

What to Bring

To help us provide safe and accurate care, please bring the following to your first appointment:

If you are booking for a child, please also bring their Medicare card and any relevant vaccination records.

Transferring Your Medical Records

If you are moving from another GP clinic, you can request that your medical records be securely transferred to Aloura Family Practice.

To do this:

  1. Ask our reception for a Medical Record Transfer Form, or download one from our website.
  2. Complete and sign the form.
  3. We will contact your previous clinic to arrange the transfer.

This process usually takes 7–10 business days, depending on your previous clinic’s policies.

Your Privacy and Consent

We take your privacy seriously. All personal and medical information is handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles and confidentiality laws.

At your first appointment, we will ask you to complete a New Patient Registration Form that includes consent for the secure storage and sharing of your health information with other healthcare providers involved in your care.

Continuity of Care

We encourage patients to see their regular GP for ongoing or chronic health issues whenever possible. This helps ensure consistency and a complete understanding of your medical history.

If your regular GP is unavailable, another doctor from our team will provide care and ensure your medical record remains up to date.

Accessibility and Support

Our clinic is wheelchair accessible and equipped to support patients with mobility or sensory needs. If you require additional assistance during your visit, please let our reception team know when booking your appointment.

We can also arrange translation services for patients who prefer to communicate in a language other than English.
