At Aloura Family Practice, we provide a range of additional medical services to support the ongoing health and well-being of our patients. These services are designed to make your care convenient, comprehensive and accessible, whether you need a procedure, health check or follow-up consultation.
Our clinic is equipped to perform a variety of minor procedures safely and comfortably in our dedicated treatment room. These include:
We also perform excisions and skin biopsies for suspicious moles and lesions, as well as skin checks and cryotherapy treatment for benign skin conditions such as skin tags and warts.
All procedures are carried out under strict sterile techniques, following current clinical safety standards. If a procedure requires specialist management, your GP will coordinate referral to a trusted provider.
Our doctors provide a number of comprehensive, Medicare-funded health assessments to help identify health risks early and support ongoing preventive care. These include:
These assessments are a valuable opportunity to monitor your general health, update care plans and detect early signs of illness before they become more serious. Where appropriate, your doctor may also create or update a mental health care plan or chronic condition plan as part of your overall health review.
We provide medical assessments for both private and commercial driver’s licence medicals. Whether you’re renewing a standard licence or require a fitness-to-drive certificate for a heavy vehicle or commercial role, our doctors can assist.
Please bring any required forms from your licensing authority to your appointment. Some assessments may incur a private fee, depending on the licence type and paperwork involved. Our team can also submit results directly to the licensing authority where electronic submission is available.
A Home Medicines Review helps patients manage their medications safely and effectively. If your GP believes you would benefit from an HMR, they will refer you to an accredited pharmacist who will arrange a home visit. The pharmacist will review your medications and provide a detailed report back to your GP.
This process helps identify potential issues, such as duplication, side effects, or interactions, thereby improving safety and outcomes. This service is bulk-billed and available for patients taking multiple medications, those recently discharged from the hospital, or those at risk of medication-related problems.
Our telehealth service enables you to consult with your GP from the comfort of your own home or workplace using your phone or computer. Telehealth consultations are ideal for follow-up appointments, medication reviews, discussing test results and general health advice. Some conditions may still require an in-person visit, and your doctor will advise you if this is necessary.
