At Aloura Family Practice, we understand that every woman’s health journey is unique. Our dedicated Women’s Health Service in Canning Vale (also known as Aloura Women’s Health) provides personalised, compassionate care for women of all ages, from adolescence through to menopause and beyond.

Our mission is to empower women with trusted medical guidance and support, helping you make confident decisions about your health. Whether you are due for a pap smear, seeking advice on contraception, or need ongoing menopause management, our experienced female doctors in Canning Vale are here to listen, guide, and support you at every stage of life.

Chronic Pelvic Pain, Endometriosis and PCOS

Conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can significantly affect daily life. Our Women’s Health GPs take time to investigate the cause of your symptoms, arrange any necessary blood tests or imaging, and develop a safe, evidence-based management plan tailored to your needs.

When appropriate, we collaborate with trusted gynaecologists and allied health professionals to ensure your care is coordinated and complete.

Menstrual & Reproductive Health

From irregular periods to fertility and family planning, we provide confidential, supportive care at every stage of your reproductive life.

Our doctors offer:

  • Contraceptive counselling
  • IUD insertions and removals (Copper, Kyleena, Mirena)
  • Implanon insertions and removals
  • Pre-conception and pregnancy planning advice

Menopause & Perimenopause

Navigating perimenopause and menopause can bring physical and emotional changes such as hot flushes, poor sleep, mood swings and reduced libido.

As members of the Australasian Menopause Society, our doctors provide longer consultations and up-to-date, evidence-based care. We discuss all available options, including Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT) and non-hormonal treatments so that you can make informed choices about your health and wellbeing.

Pelvic Floor & Bladder Health

Issues like urinary incontinence or bowel control problems are common and treatable. Our GPs offer sensitive assessment, practical management strategies, and, where needed, referrals to pelvic floor physiotherapists or urogynaecologists for specialised care.

Emotional & Mental Wellbeing

We recognise that women’s health involves both body and mind. Our doctors provide confidential support for emotional well-being, relationship and intimacy concerns, and work closely with psychologists and counsellors for ongoing mental health support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We provide personalised menopause care, including Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT) and non-hormonal alternatives, guided by the latest clinical evidence. At Aloura Women’s Health, we prescribe body-identical hormones. These are pharmaceutical-grade hormones that are chemically identical to the ones naturally produced by your body. They are manufactured under strict regulations and recommended as first-line MHT options by the Australasian Menopause Society. We understand there are many misconceptions about MHT, and we take the time to answer your questions and provide clear, evidence-based information.

Not at all. Before recommending MHT, we perform a thorough assessment to ensure there are no personal contraindications. MHT may not be suitable for everyone, and our doctors will always discuss a range of non-hormonal management options to help you find the most appropriate approach for your needs.

Yes. You can book online or by phone. Please inform our reception team of the reason for your visit so that the appropriate consultation length can be scheduled.

Yes. Dr Sehli Quaddus performs Implanon insertions and removals, as well as IUD removals. Dr May Wong and Dr Subashini perform IUD insertions and removals. We also offer additional procedures, including skin biopsies, mole excisions, skin tag removals, wart freezing, and treatment for pre-cancerous skin lesions, as well as iron infusions.

We offer longer consultations because women’s health concerns often require dedicated time. For new women’s health consultations, we recommend booking a 30-minute appointment. For initial consultations related to menopause or perimenopause, we recommend a 45-minute appointment. Our online booking system automatically applies the correct duration when you select the relevant appointment type. If you are unsure, our friendly reception staff will be happy to assist with scheduling.
